I Spin You Round Round Baby

Don’t you hate it when you’re heading out to run a simple errand and get all flustered and frizzy haired trying to fit an irritable toddler in the car, straining across to secure them in the seat whilst they fiddle with the twisted straps?

Luckily, this is not something I’ve personally experienced because Joie have literally put the joy into their Spin 360 Signature car seat.

At the click of a button, the Joie spins in all directions, giving you the option to lock the seat into rear or front facing position.  Swivel it to the side for easy access in/out of the car - making buckling in an effortless task, even if your toddler is having the rare tantrum (trust me).

The spin makes things SO much easier -  why don't all car seats come with this function as standard?! My mum suffers from a bad back and the fact that she doesn’t need to bend across makes her experience an absolute pleasure.

Although the seat does offer both rear and front facing options, our plan is to keep Ripley rear facing for as long as possible since this is the safest method of travel. The seat holds little ones from birth up to 18kg so that’s approx. 3.5 – 4 years old.  We previously used the excellent
Joie i-level from birth since we wanted to attach the seat to his buggy.

Rear facing car seats are up to five times safer than forward facing ones. The risk of serious injury in a high-impact crash is reduced from 40% in a forward facing seat to just 8% in a rear facing one. Rear facing seats reduce the impact on the neck from 300kg (forward facing) to 50kg in a 30mph crash.

Apart from how practical, safe and sturdy the seat is, I obviously love the stylish and timeless design.  It’s all plush quilted materials and smart cognac faux leather accents, complimenting the car beautifully.  Once summer arrives, we'll add the mesh-lined seat cover that’s included so Ripley stays cool when things get a bit toasty.
