S-T-R-E-T-C-H-M-A-R-K-S?
I'm currently 1 day over my due date and have so far steered clear of developing any stretch marks.
It's probably because I have literally drowned my body in oils and lotions every single day since discovering I was pregnant.
I'd been using Lucy Bee's Coconut Oil pre-pregnancy and increased the amount when my skin started getting a little itchy (due to boobs/bump slowly growing, etc).
It does take a while to absorb and Dan said I felt like a slippery fish whenever I got into bed. I put so much on that it turned the bed sheets an odd colour so you do need to allow it to sink in (but I'm too impatient for that).
So, I decided to check out some brands that are designed specifically for pregnancy (after all, this is time when you can indulge a little) and fell in love with Mama Mio.
Their products contain no nasties and smell really gorgeous and uplifting.
The body goes through such a huge transition and I swear by their Tummy Rub Oil which I also use on my boobs and hips. It's a super elasticising omega-packed potion blended with a mixture of nourishing organic oils. It absorbs super fast so you can pretty much get dressed straight away (oh and no ruined bed sheets).
I alternate this with their delicious Tummy Rub Butter with Ginger & Lime (ginger is actually a great remedy for morning sickness).
Mama Mio recently launched a 'Push Pack' created specifically for giving birth and I have this ready to use in my hospital bag.
When I've been on the go, I carry the Stretch Mark Oil from Emma Bunton's brand Kit & Kin in my handbag because the spray bottle is really lightweight and the scent is so relaxing.
By the way, I've still continued using Lucy Bee sparingly everywhere else since I don't want to neglect any areas.
Here's hoping I haven't jinxed myself and wake up with stretch marks now that I've published this.
