A lot of friends have advised me that a nappy disposal bin is an indispensable and practical solution for eliminating nasty odours that come with the wonderfully artistic duty of nappy changing.
I am totally up for the house not smelling like a sh*t show so was obviously interested.
My issue was finding a system that comes with the option of using biodegradable refill cartridges (aka bags) to accommodate eco-friendly nappies.
After all, there's no point disposing something degradable if you're gonna pack it up in plastic.
I did a fair bit of hunting around and found a product that provides this service...
It's called the The Korbell Bin and here's what it offers:
- Triple sealing system for an odour-free environment
- Truly hygienic hands-free nappy disposal system (you only need to use the foot pedal to open the bin)
- Best value, biodegradable and economical refills on the market
- Converts into a functional and smart everyday bin. It comes in 4 cute shades, I went with pale peppermint
- Holds up to 25 nappies at a time
So, I have everything in place to be as eco as I possibly can when it comes to disposing nappies (including the baby wipes). Now I just have to hope that the ones I've bought actually live up to the job they're suppose to do - otherwise, I need a plan B. I've got quite a few different brands to test out so will report back in due course.
FYI, this post will explain why I'm so keen to go down the biodegradable route.
