Apart from feeling the baby move and eating whatever I want, do you know what's been truly enjoyable about pregnancy?
Having a really compact wardrobe.
I didn't realise how small it was until last weekend when I packed my 'pregnancy wardrobe' into a 35 x 20cm box so the builders could have complete access to the bedroom.
I have worn approx 16 items of clothing throughout and it has made the 'getting ready' part of my life SO much more straightforward and one less thing to think about.
Admittedly, my belly only gradually started to pop around 6.5 months so I've had quite a lot of flexibility with what I can wear.
These have been my staples:
- 2 x jumpsuits from my client Nobody's Child in black and grey. I wore these often pre-pregnancy and am hoping I haven't totally stretched them out because I love them
- 2 pairs of leggings from Uniqlo. 1 pair is heat-tech and I'm fully aware that they go completely see-through when I bend over but they're really comfy so...I have worn them to ante-natal yoga and just general lounging around/running errands
- Realisation Par style wrap dress from Nobody's Child. I think this will be a particularly useful style for breastfeeding. I'm probably going to get it in the red also
- Shirred peplum dress from ASOS - very flattering on le bump
- A selection of soft tee's and lightweight knits from LNA. I use to handle LNA's PR and their basics are the best. I'll probably live in them even more whilst breastfeeding
- Isabella Oliver dresses - they kindly sent me three gorgeous quality dresses which are my only only items of maternity wear (apart from the below ASOS dress). I did invest in a pair of their jeans when I first got pregnant but the weather's been too warm for those
- Cami smock dress from ASOS - the one maternity dress I purchased and it's been worn a lot over the summer. I team mine with stompy boots
- Fishnet tights - somehow I have managed to squeeze into these throughout my pregnancy without laddering them. I'm glad I didn't have to ditch them
I'll definitely be re-evaluating my wardrobe situation post-pregnancy. I just don't need that many items of clothing.
